I mean the first few rows written to the table will usually go to the LK file. If the empty OV file was deleted, will the table still work until the OV file is needed?
And what if the OV file was *not* empty when it was deleted?

Short answer is LH will create the OV file if needed. If the OV is not 0 bytes and it's deleted, that means it needs it which means GFEs.
