We have a real strange situation.
We create an edit table that is bigger than 64,000 chars
We then create a record of this data to write to a temp file, to be read later on.
When this is written in certain circumstances OI locks up and then can only be closed from Taskmanager
Where this happen.
Runtime OI411
NT Service 2.1
Fileserver=Small business 2000
Workstations=XP
From the workstations OI locks totally.
From the fileserver it works without any problem
On our development it works no problem
We had a similar problem with another client where we tried to write a record bigger than 64, k and eventually reduced the file size to under 64k, now it works. They are however still running Ntservice 1.5
Anyone else seen this

Gerry,
Does using Named Pipes versus TCP/IP for the communication to the NT 2.1 Service effect anything?

Pat,
Thanks for the response
Problem solved, as follows:
The runtime was version 4.10
Nt Service 2.1
Network driver 2.1
In this case you cant write a record bigger than 64 k
If I upgrade the runtime to 4.11 then it all worksssssss
Strange but True
