Reoccuring File open or read errors (AREV Specific)

I have a client who gets random but frequent read or file open errors.

They are using:

Arev version=2.12

Restriction Level=blank

Active language set=default

CPU type=80486

Math Processor=80487

Available memory=408636

Descriptors used=2722

Expanded memory=active

Network drive=All Networks Drv. 1.1.1.0

In each case the files referenced in the error messages have no errors.

The errors will go away with time. Sometimes a reboot of the server seems to help.

It the errors show on different workstations. The one I remote to is windows xp although I am not sure if all the workstations there are xp. On this workstation files is set to 40 in config.nt.

The server is windows 2000. They said the arev NT service pack was installed. Is there anyway to verify that?

Thanks,

Ryan

It is likely to be an external process (backup/AV) accessing the LK/OV files although a user accessing NOT using the appropriate driver might also cause this. For example a developer running locally with a different network driver attaching the file on the server. We'd set files=200 but this probably matters less when using the Win2K/NT Service. To verify, WHO at TCL and check the network driver. Also add "ServerOnly=1" to the REVPARAM file in the AREV subdirectory and see if they can still log in.

Thanks, Is there a way to verify the service pack is installed correctly on the server? If so how?
