SYS1000 problem (long) (OpenInsight 32-Bit)

I've done a search on the site, but haven't found anybody with the same configuration as we have.

We have a NT 4.0 database server with the latest service pack applied. Connected to this server is a Citrix MetaFrame XP application server. Users log into the application server and run an OI application (OI3.72 and OI4.0.3) residing on the database server. This current setup is hosting about 10 OpenInsight applications where there are usually 30-40 concurrent users logged in.

The problem is that occasionally users with get error SYS1000 - Error loading program REV_LOADREC. This error will in frequency.

ie:

Day 0 - reboot the server

Day 1 - 0 occurrences

Day 2 - 1 occurrence

Day 3 - 2 occurrences

Day 10 - 10 occurrences

Day 11 - 20 occurrences

Rebooting the application server and database server causes the cycle to repeat. We currently are rebooting every 5 days.

We are using the all network driver since the two machines sit side by side connected by a 100Mb switch. We have set FILES=200 on both the config.sys and config.nt on both the application server and database server. We are looking at using the 2000 service, but looking for other alternatives. I should note that speed is not an issue.

Any suggestions would be appreciated,

Thanks,

Hank,

Are these 10 different OI applications running against 10 different copies of OpenInsight or are multiple applications contained within fewer copies of OpenInsight? What are the user counts of the different engines you are running? Finally, are the serial numbers for each of these engines the same or different?

While I haven't seen your error come up as a result of this type of configuration, we have had problems with user counts when a single server was hosting multiple copies of OpenInsight. Ultimately the problem was that the NT Service was tracking user logins against the serial number. Since each copy of OpenInsight had the same serial number (although they were bumped with different SDPs) the error messages would appear the moment the total number of users exceeded the maximum user count of a single engine. The solution Revelation provided was to custom stamp each engine and the problem went away.

Like I said, not the same problem you are having but could be connected somehow.
