I've searched the manuals and this website and cannot find any documentation on the usage of the APPBACKUP utility. Any help on where to look would be appreciated.
Thanks
Robert
Huh?
Log into your app
OpenInsight
ExecutablesOpenInsight formsAppBackupBackup…
To restore
Create a blank application with the same name, log in, do the above then check the RESTORE button.

And if when you get there the form doesn't exist, What would your next move be?
Robert
Robert,
Was the form inherited? APPBACKUP won't work with inherited components.
Robert,
In addition to what Don said :
- APPBACKUP fails to bring over IMPORTEXPORT (at least in OI 3.3 and earlier), so if you have "ASCII Import" specifications you'll have to take care of them yourself.
- I remember being adviced not to tick Copy Data Tables, but I don't recall why. Anyway it's easy to just copy the folders over an reattach all the tables.
- APPBACKUP was faulty before 3.11, but I guess you have a newer OI than that.
- Oystein -
Sounds like OI is trying to open appbackup.
Besure to SHIFT-DBLCLICK on appbackup

Robert,
With all of the good suggestions you have gotten here I am guessing your problems have left. If you are still expierencing difficulties please let us know.

Thanks to you all but!
The APPBACKUP form is missing. The executable is there but no form.
I thought that in my hacking I had somehow axed it, but I loaded up a virgin copy of 3.3 from the CD and built it up to 3.6 on another machine and it is missing there too.
Where in the H*** am I going wrong? All I want to do is get this completed application from my License to the customers License. I managed to deploy it into a runtime and it works there (with exception of a problem with a hook when you print). I just cannot get it loaded onto their development copy.
TIA
Robert
You're not meant to have the source - you just run the executable - so as DSig says - Shift-DBCLK
