I have a problem running a multiuser run time application
from a workstation. Here are the facts:
- I have generated an OI 3.7 application run time for my client
and succesfully installed the unlimited server deployment pack on it.
The application resides on a Pentium III 450MHz, 64MBserver
with NetWare 3.12.
- I have selected the network multiuser
driver to NetWare Multi-user driver ver. 2.0c on the
application run time.
- I have succesfully installed the client ver. 3.7 on
a Pentium 133MHz/16MB workstation with Win 98.
- Whe I try to run the application from this workstation ,
the next operating system message appears on the screen:
"A fatal exception 0E has ocurred at 0028:C29b8288 in VXD
ne2000(01)+00001808. The current application will be terminated.
*Press any key to terminate the current application.
*Press CTRL+ALT+DEL agin to restart the computer."
But I have to press the reset button to restart again the computer.
- I have no problems with running an Multiuser AREV 1.X
application on the same workstation and server.
Any idea that could help me to solve this problem?
Ruben,
Have you tried this on another workstation? VxD problems are typically software related unless the software is known to work normally (i.e. on other machines or in other installations) in which case it may be memory related.
You should also be using the NLM client driver in this configuration. The original Netware driver is not sufficient. Using the correct driver may make this problem go away as well.

Ruben,
How are your other workstations similar/different? I'll look into this more in the meantime. Does changing the driver help at all?

Ruben,
The fatal error you are getting on that particular workstation may be due to the driver you are using, or possibly your virtual memory settings. Have you tried using the All Networks Driver?
We highly recommend using the NLM on your network running OpenInsight however, and it may be your best bet to install the NLM and to upgrade your ARev application to 2.03 or higher (in order for ARev to utilize the NLM).
Good luck,
Stephen Revelation
It also could be the network client. Try switching to the other drive, MS or Novell from the one you are using.
