The User Setup window can be found from the OpenInsight IDE at Settings, Users, User Setup.

This form will allow the data manager to create and delete the user name, the user’s full name, and to enter or re-enter the password, being aware of and respecting the policies defined above. The “data manager” is the default owner of the application. In general, it’s the user with the same name as the application (i.e., in SYSPROG it’s SYSPROG, in EXAMPLES it’s EXAMPLES). This information will be encrypted and stored in an OpenInsight table. Any changes to this data will be journaled for reporting purposes into the SYSAUTHLOG table.

User Name – The user name of the user being created or modified. Displayed in the left panel. Valid user name characters are: UPPER CASE alphabetic characters, numeric characters and the following punctuation characters

Full Name - The full name of the user.

User Type – The choices are: Both OpenInsight And O4W User, OpenInsight Only User, O4W Only User

User Level – The choices are: User, Administrator, System Administrator

O4W User Level – The choices are: None, Administrator, Designer, Level 10, Level 20, Level 30, Level 40, Level 50

Success Return Value – A value to indicate that the user has successfully logged into the system. This is the value that additional routines, such as an MFS or other security routine, can check to verify the successful log in. For additional information, please see the section titled “Securing Files after Login” at the end of this document.

Password Expiration Type – The choices are: User must change Password at next Logon, Password Never Expires, Password Expires On the Following Date

Password Expiration Date - Date that the user’s password will expire. The date will be calculated and displayed based on the policy in force.

User Disabled – The choices are: Yes, No. Dependent upon your choice will enable or disable the Disable until date and Time edit lines.

User Disabled Until Date – Date that the user’s account will be disabled until. Enter the date to disable the user’s account until.

User Disabled Until Time – The time that the user’s account will be disabled until. Time can be entered as either HH:MM AM or PM or HH:MM in 24 hour (military time) format. The time will then be converted to AM/PM time.

New Password - The data manager enters the new password for this user using the parameters defined for the policy. The entered password is hidden on screen and each letter is represented by a bullet point.

Confirm New Password – The data manager re-enters the new password for this user using the parameters defined for the policy. This password must match the password entered in the previous field. The entered password is hidden on screen and each letter is represented by a bullet point.

Force Password Reset – Check the box to require this user to reset his or her password at next log in.

Ctrl S – Save the record.

New User Button – Create a new user.

Delete User Button – Delete the user record.

List Users Button – Produces a report of Users in the selected Application.
