AREV 1.15/Win 95/single user/locking up (AREV Specific)

Hi all,
This is a weird one! I haven't seen anything like it before. As stated, it's AREV 1.15 (I know, I know …), single user, under Win95 (SR2). Although there are two networked stations, the problem happens on both the server and the station, running single user, of course.
AREV loads, and the application (under SYSPROG) loads, and a menu appears. At some point after this, it MAY lock up. It does not always. Locking up means freezing. I have to "End Task" to get out. I have left it for about a minute, and it has frozen, although not always. It seems to freeze "more often" if I edit a record in a file, then move around that record, and press Esc. For some bizarre reason, pressing Esc at that point often seems to freeze it, again only sometimes. Other times, I can work for an hour with no problems.
OK, here's what I've checked. The Win95 shortcut is set up as per instructions here, and has worked fine for my other clients. !Indexing file and all index files are fine, no GPFs, etc. All data files are fine, no GPFs. DOS session has proper EMS memory, and AREV behaves the same whether I call it with "/X", "/M4096", both, or neither. Power mgmt in Windows, and in system's BIOS is disabled (long shot), Write behind caching in Win95 has been disabled. I can't think of anything else.
Bizarre, is it not? Any ideas? Please post here, or email me directly ([email protected]).
Thanks,
Robin

Have you tried re-booting the workstation in DOS mode and then running your application? If it still locks up, I would say it's a network hardware issue. If it runs fine from DOS, but only locks up when you're running it in a DOS shell, then my guess would be that it's a problem with the 95 settings *somewhere*.
