We use pcAnywhere over the net as often as possible (some users refuse to move to the 20th century .. ) but this is only good if you have at least 56K compressed on each end (of course dsl or t1 is much better). Remember your communication will be limited by the slowest connection so when I connect to one of my users who are at 28K ((*^%^&*%) my DSL does me no real good
I have found that for real slow connections direct call is faster .. but then you do get the long distance.
