Slow NLM performance on NT/2000 Workstation connecting to Novell (Networking Products)

What is the latest with OI on a Novell 4/5 box using NLM and with Windows NT/2000 workstations. We have tried Novell Client 4.5, 4.6, 4.7 and 4.8 and also the Microsoft GSNW Client and all are about 10 times slower than access from Windows 95 or 98 workstations.
Removing the NLM speeds up the NT/2000 workstations.
We have tried manual frame types
Forcing IPX as preferred protocol
Removing and reinstalling clients
The NLM was marketed as W2K fix for 95/98 and NT and thus was installed by many clients so I would be interested in even confirmation that others are also experiencing the same problems.

There should be an update available soon for the NLM that fixes this problem on Win2K.

Thanks for the response. Where is this available from as we have several customers who could use it?

Mike Ruane would probably have the best answer for your question.

Tony-
As I said in the Roadshows, the problem resides within Novell, specifically functions that return the MaximumPacketSize and whether to use NWCalls or VxD.
We've a promising view with our latest version, but this only works for OI. We're doing this without much support from Novell, and we'll need Novell's assistance with the Arev fix. We continue to test.
As the new driver becomes available it will be available for sale as a upgrade. We'll post information here.
Thanks-
Mike

I missed the first part of Roadshow and have heard conflicting stories since.
But for your information we run Arev 3.12 from both NT and WIN2000 workstations against Netware 5 server with the NLM with no problems or speed problems. Its all fine. Our problem is just with OI. Do you have a problem with Arev speed?

No reported problems with Arev, yet. We're concerned, though, given Novell's recent history with our product.

The reason I mentioned AREV was because you stated the following:
"We're doing this without much support from Novell, and we'll need Novell's assistance with the Arev fix."
Can you clarify - do you have a problem with Arev?
Thanks Tony
