I am converting my Vip1.1 programs to Vip2.2. I have one V?L file which calls a number of other V?L files and have found that each time a V2L file is called the Notes ID is requested.

With VIL files the ID was only requested once and there have been a number of people who have complained about having to enter their Notes password more than once.

Is there a way around this

Take a look at "Suppressing Password Prompts" in the ViP/DX section of the Knowledge Base.

Here is an excerpt …

… When a ViP application is deployed to a runtime environment, it is sometimes expected to run as a scheduled task, with no User Interface. Under these circumstances it is important to ensure that no prompts for passwords are ever executed, since the application will halt, waiting for user input. The two sources for database connections of concern are Notes and ODBC. Revelation has provided documentation, and where necessary, additional means to suppress password prompts.
