I'm trying to export a list of patients and their addresses to make address labels in WP51. It used to work, now it doesn't. This is the error that comes up.

There is no IMPORT.EXPORT record
named "EXPORT.ASCII.PATIENTS"...Press any key to continue..
This is the list of commands that were executed:
1]EXPORT ASCII PATIENTS
2¦GETLIST ALLCUST
3¦SAVELIST ALLCUST
4¦DELETE-LIST 13:48:3525*NOV*1998.NATUROPATH (S) 5¦SELECT CUSTOMERS BY ZIP 6¦GETLIST ALLCUST SELECT CUSTOMERS BY "ZIP" 7¦GETLIST ALLCUST 8¦SAVELIST ALLCUST 9¦DELETE-LIST 13:46:0025*NOV*1998.NATUROPATH (S)
10¦SELECT CUSTOMERS WITH ADDRESS NE '' AND WITH REFER NOT CONTAINING
11¦EXPORT.ALLCUST.WP
It appears that the EXPORT.ASCII.PATIENTS file is missing. How do you create that?
I didn't write the code originally, so I'm only somewhat familiar with what needs to be done. Thanks.
Dr. Tom

Dr Tom,
It sounds like you are missing the IMPORT.EXPORT record that was created to do the export process. This record would be created from the Arev main menu (F5 followed by F10) by selecting:
Arev 2.x
Tools, Export, ASCII
Arev 3.x
Application, Main, Utilities, Export, Ascii
Once you have gotten to the export creation window, the prompts should guide you through the rest of it. If I remember my WP5.1 correctly, there were two different characters for End-of-field and End-of-record. I know they were keystrokes, but I could not tell you which ones they are.
I hope this helps.

I've got a generic exporter that includes filename selection, fieldname selection, multiple sort fields and output to several different WP formats; it will also overwrite or append to existing output. e-mail me your e-mail and I'll e-mail you an e-mail with the routines attached to the e-mail. (Yes, there's a contest to see how many times one may use 'e-mail' in a sentence and still make the sentence somewhat coherent! )
(I'm tired of all the typing, so just e-mail me at:)
This routine, along with several others, will soon be on my download page at: http://members.tripod.com/rehabsw
