I have a client running OI on NT using the All Networks driver 1.5.0.0.

Thier system had a "hard" crash and they had to restore all thier

data from tape backup.

When trying to boot up OI from the server or a workstation they are getting the

  All network driver 1.5.0.0
Unable to access linear hash files
  Error-FS231

Then get:

  Filing system installation failed
  (REPOS_BFS -- FS1100)
  OpenEngine cannot continue

Then get:

APPLICATION does not exist in repository

1) I have tried reset all the permissions in the OI directory(s).

2) I took out the "ServerOnly=True" line in Revparam.

3) Tried rebooting and trying to launch again, but to no avail.

4) Tried to start OI from the OInsight.exe file in the OI dir.

Still no luck. Any suggestions? TIA

Try looking at This link. There seem to be some similarities. Hopefully the solution will be the same.

Kevin,

Thanks, we tried a couple of things but they didn't work.

I thought they may be a file missing (something could of been

open during the backup and therefore not saved) so we ended

up restoring from a backup directory that I keep (just a file

copy of the working oi directory before every appbackup restore)

and then restored from the most recent tape.

Now OI will boot up. I will have to check the app for any

missing progs, screens etc. but it is launchable. (Is that a word?)

Can anyone list the most basic files oi needs to launch itself

so in the future we can check those out also?

Thanks!

Kevin,

I know this may sound a bit basic, but depending on how the files are flagged on the backup/restore, the error message that you got will be output if the system has been restored as read-only !!
