We are considering an upgrade on our network which will require a change from IPX to TCP/IP addressing. I have been told that the AREV NLM will only work in the IPX environment and not with the new IP environment. Is this true? If so, what else can be done to guard against GFE's on AREV applications?

Marshall,

The NLM uses IPX sockets to communicate so you must use IPX on your server, you cannot solely run IP. The solution is to run both protocols on your wan.
