With the debugger, it is possible to display line numbers as lines of code are being executed. Is it possible to tap into this to record the line numbers somewhere other than the screen? An application might be to run a program, then open an editor that highlights all the lines that were executed. I've seen other programming languages do this, and even display the portion of the program executing during execution.

No, it is not. System compiler stuff and all that. Trust me, you don't want to know how the debugger does it. It's not pretty.
