I am having a problem with the communications for an external modem using advanced revelation. We have Qualcomm satellites in our trucks and are using an interface written by a firm in Kansas City who was contracted by Qualcomm and they have since gone out of business so no assistance from them is available. We have recently moved our dispatch office from one city to another and are using a different phone system which is giving us a problem. The modem is dialing the number too quickly before the phone system is ready for it. What command or code does the dial string need to contain to effect a pause of 2-5 seconds or so before beginning to dial the number? It needs to be able to be automatic and included with the phone number dial string. I tried comma,P,*,-,space and a couple of others that did not work. I appreciate any assistance. My email address is khitl@aol.com. Thank you.

I do believe a "K" will delay until a dial tone is heard. try that.

It's been a long time since I've dealt with modems of any sort but I think Hayes compatible used a '~' as a delay.
