We are in the process of upgrading from AREV 2.12 to 3.12. We are planning on keeping our dots because of some old object code only programs. We hope to be able to upgrade to OI "some day". By keeping our dots, will this make upgrading to OI impossible, hard, or easy? Any input on this matter will be appreciated.

Well assuming then you plan to recreate your old object code into new Basic+ code (or you won't need them at all) then you could create duplicate entries in your REVMEDIA tables pointing to the same OS files. Then OI can attach the pointers that use underscores and AREV can still point to those with dots.

I've never been sure, however, if there are any negative effects with regards to indexes doing this type of thing.
