Arev & NT knowledgable;

We're playing server shuffle and considering moving Arev (3.12) from it's dual processor proliant server (NT 4 current SP) to our business server. We also have a small accounting database written in OI (3.6 I believe) running on that server and I was wondering if there would be any conflict or confusion since they both use the NT Service - do we install the NT Service again in Arev's new home even though there's already a copy running for OI?

The other question is more an NT question and I think I know the answer but I said I'd ask anyway; is there any advantage running Arev on a dual processor server compared to a comparable single processor.

My thoughts would be that the OS will take advantage of the second processor but not Arev, so there's really no advantage to Arev except for the fact that it has more elbow room, so to speak.

Any help or suggestions on where to find answers would be welcome;

You should be able to run both on the same server without a problem.

You do not need to install the service a second time.

Your assumption about dual processor is correct.
