I have found on our network that while using the NLM 1.5, the dos / win3.1 / win95 / win98 computers all lock files appropriately. However, our computers that are running NT Workstation 4.0 load the LHIPXTSR successfully, but once in AREV, the NT Workstation computers do not lock records with the other computers on the network. Are there some extra parameters to pass for the NT Workstations or is something else wrong here?

Brandon,

Do you have the revparam file? If not you should create it with serveronly=1. If you do, it sounds like the NT machines should not be able to read the lh data. They should get some fs 477 error. Do you have the Intranetware 4.11 Client for NT installed on the NT workstations. If not I would suggest going to SUPPORT.NOVELL.COM and downloading the NT intranetware Client. This should help.

We had the same problem at a client site.

Please check the following :

- Do the NT Workstations have the latest patches from Microsoft (nr 3?)

- Is no anti-virus software loaded in the AUTOEXEC.NCF of the Novell server after the NLM. If so, place the NLM behind it.

- If you look from a Windows NT station in the SYSTABLES-record VOC

do you see the FFFFFF op line 5.

It should work fine.

Our client runs DOS and Windows NT stations on a Novell 3.12 server and it works fine since some time. We only adjusted a few timing parameters last week.

If you want to know more, please contact me.

I have the same problem with NT workstations. The problem is to

do with drive mapping but I am not sure why. A short term solution

that we had to implement was to move the required directories to the root of the server disk drive. Once this was done we had no further

problems.

I have since been informed that with the latest 32 bit Novell client driver and service pack 3 installed there are no problems.
