Can someone from RTI give us an update on support for Win9x Client 32 v 3.2 with either Netware 4x or 5; has this been resolved yet?

I note about a week has passed and yet no response from RevSoft staff.
Susan, I thought this forum was beeing monitored. Even a comment such as … ' we will be back to you in the next few days would be helpful'.

May be we need to let Revsoft know how many of us there are waiting for this. Anyone else? Shall we start a petition?

Philip et al,
Excuse my ignorance, but is this a problem with the Revelation NLM? I think we have 20 client sites with Novell, but none that runs NLM.
(But of course we will not promote the NLM either if it doesn't work.)

Oystein,
How are you able to run without the NLM? Just curious. Are your PC running only DOS or Win3.1?

This issue is becoming a real pain and is affecting the credibility of small company's like ours, who support large sites.

Well, I don't do it myself. But as I said we have a few clients with Novell networks. Unfortunately we don't know much about their mode of work. For all we know there's only one person doing data entry at a time (small institutions, lack of resources for data entry). But I feel certain some of them do simultaneous data entry and saerch, and I would think at least a few of them have had more than one user doing data entry at a time. I just mailed two of the most promising ones with some questions.
(Unfortunately many people in Norway are off for their Easter holiday now.)
Are your PC running only DOS or Win3.1?
I think one of these two institustions run Win 9x and the other a mixture of 9x and 3.x.

I asked the same question back 1/17/00 and again on 3/2/00. The first time Rob M. from Revelation verified that client 3.2 does not work with NW4.11 and the current NLM. Received no answer from post on 3/2/00. It appears that not a lot of effort is being expended supporting (understandably) the older DOS apps. But they are offering a sale on the network products for crossover purposes. We are going to move the last of the netware servers to nt and avoid the client headaches altogether!

Ray,
One of our customers says they have done simultaneous data entry on a combination of Win 95 and 3.11 workstations. Sometimes there have been problems, but nothing that she or we think is relevant to the issue. (They are not currently doing any data entry, but when they start again she's promised to keep her eyes open and report on possible problems.)

Oystein,
Some years ago, a client upgraded their PCs from Win3.1 to Win95. Things went along okay at times, but every once in awhile, the system would experience some problems. This was unusual as it was very stable environment. The only change was upgrading their PCs from Win3.1 to Win95. There was no way of getting them to go back to Win3.1. Based on various sources, we found out about the NLM and how it was recommended for Win95 pc. At that time, we were still using OS/2 and had no personal experience with Win95. Nevertheless, we recommended that our client get the NLM if they wanted to live with Win95. They declined. After a few more "GFEs" or whatever, our client changed their mind. Since installing it, we rarely hear from them except for modifications. Don't know if we can convince this site to OI since they're upset about the LanPack not converting over.
Don't know why the NLM helped, but it did. Your client site may be living on "borrowed time" .
