Does anyone know how to prevent newer HP printers from resetting after a print job? Many of our AREV applications have menu options that allow the user to prepare their printer for various print options like landscape and condensed printing. Then all they need to do is create their R/List report and send it off.

However, newer HP's reset automatically and this is preventing our users from using their systems as intended. Is there a PCL code that will suspend this or, alternatively, allow the formatting codes to be set as the default so even a reset won't alter the setting?

I've taken a slightly different tack. I've not been able to keep the Windows only drivers from resetting, so what has been done is create a preamble that sets the printer for each specific job. Note that if the printer port closes, you lose the set.
