Arev 3.111 using LH_VERFIY takes more than 4 hrs to check tables. Other sites using the same set-up (below) and file count and file size can complete within an hour. What are we missing?
Server
Installed the Linear Hash service from Advanced Revelation 1.5
Created a REVPARAM file in all directories of Arev containing SERVERONLY=TRUE
All Arev files have the ownership of ADMIN
No screen saver on the server.
Service Pack 4
Protocols
TCP/IP
Note - there is a DLC protocol on server. Used for printing only - not stacked above TCP/IP
Files
AREV.EXE is not read only.
No virus checking on OV files.
Arev
Using /x/m4096 parameters with the Arev command
QUICKDEXS are removed on system files
EDIT DOS REVBOOT and change 020 to 000 to remove cache
Workstation
FILES=250 in CONFIG.SYS or CONFIG.NT
Allocated 4096K of expanded (EMS) memory
Windows swap file is not on the network
Windows 95 workstations are using Service Pack 1 and/or Service Pack 2
Not using FAST-INDEX or FAST-START from Microsoft Office
Removed all unused applications for STARTUP
Using a PIF which enables background tasks
Entered a frame type under network properties, do not run on 'Auto'
Disabled "Power Save (green)"

You might try creating a local volume (I use C:\AREVLOC) and create
a LISTS file and a SYSTEMP file on that volume and have it attached
last in your LOGIN. Also, set your SWAP path to be that directory.
Run this on the SERVER (using the C:\AREVLOC, although if you can, set the AREVLOC directory up on a different disk than AREV is located)
In the MISC tab of the shortcut, move the IDLE SENSITIVITY to LOW.
Take out the /m4096, put AUTO into the shortcut MEMORY-EMS selection and NONE into XMS; auto everywhere else. Leave the /X in. This may give you 8 or even 16MB of expanded memory in AREV.
Make sure everyone else is logged out of AREV.
I would guess that your 4 hours should shrink by more than half - maybe to 1 hour or less. Please let me know if any of this helps.

I forgot to mention. You might want to consider an upgrade to 3.12 as 3.111 has a SELECT bug. Check with Aaron Kaplan.
