Funny how it never rains but it pours - in the past week we've done 3 Rev G data consultation exercises!

Thanks for all your help. With your information and a little research on our part we sucessfully installed the REV G and a AREV 2.0 system.

We learnt some very interesting lessons during this REV G and AREV 2.0 system restore exercise. I hope our experience will help others.

1. We initial loaded the REV G system on a workstation. When we logon to SYSPROG we were presented with a black screen and nothing happened. We loaded the system on a laptop and the system loaded (SYSPROG) but not the application. This also occured when restoring an old AREV 2.0 system. The reason, the the systems loaded on the laptop and not the workstation, i surmise, was the original system video settings were not compatible with our workstation video setup.

2. When originally restoring the the systems on the laptop we received a log screen and nothing else. (REG G and AREV 2.0). This problem was traced in both cases to one or more of the the ROS and REV files being restored being designated READ Only and Archived. After the Read Only and Archieved attributes were removed the systems loaded correctly.
