One of my clients got the following error message.

'SITENAME' Line 1. {B718] Frame Format Error

After they modified their expanded memory setting to 4096, they got the following:

Line 1. B717 Program list format error.

They are on a runtime AREV 2.03 on a stand-alone system, running under Windows 95/98. On another AREV system (different location, different license) with the same files/ fields/ symbolics, there are no error messages with the same process.

They would like to know what these messages mean. I wonder if there is a resource like the tech bulletin listing Verb and RTP programs in AREV that lists these error messages, and at least for the most common, an idea of what the error suggests about the problem.

TIA

Maggie-

Sometimes you can noodle out what the messages mean, and where they come from, form looking at the message in the sysmessages or sys.messages file, depending upon your version of Arev. However, I don't see B717 in either one of these files in 3.1. :-(

You can also look in reverror.000 at the OS level.

Hope this helps-

Hmmm. I meant to say I needed some interpretation about what might be causing the error. I guess my impression was that REVERROR.000 doesn't really clue you in much on what causes it.

Thanks for your input.

This error could mean something happened to the programs array. It could be the return stack, but it should be the programs.

It also means something might have corrupted the frames array in memory.

Either way, the system could not find the program or item that should have been loaded onto the stack.

It's probably related to how memory is set on the workstation, shortcut and/or command line.

Ensure they have 4096K available and you are limiting ARev to 4096 and using the the /X /M4096 switches.
