Problems saving reports (Reporter Specific)

Hi all
I don't seem to be able to save my reporter definitions past the first save.
I created a report with some fields on it and saved it, ok
then I put more fields on it and some labels and saved it
I put a page number, and some sort and selection criteria and told it to print landscape and saved it.
When I retrieved it, the labels were still there, but all the fields except one had fallen off. The sort and selection criteria had fallen off, the landscape had fallen off, the page number had fallen off.
Incidentally - I can't put the page number back on, I get an empty list for fields | system variables when it used to have date, time and page in it.
We have oengine version 3.7 and reporter v3.6, Win95 and Novell.
Anyone got any ideas?
Scott

Scott,
Not seeing your reports it is hard to diagnose BUT I can tell you that Reporter has a few peculiarities(sp?) ..
As your reports grow things will seem to fall off, or you won't be able to retrieve the report or it will just become corruped.
RTI is aware of Reporter eccentricities but don't expect a fix any time soon (one of my clients was promised fixes over a year ago .. and he still waits .. hopefully without holding his breath

Try saving your reports to a dos directory instead of the repository. This seems to take care of a lot of problems.
Hope this helps ..
BY THE WAY ..
I would strongly suggest you look at S/List and OIPI instead of using Reporter .. you will get better support from these two.

Hi David
Thanks for your response.
It doesn't seem to matter if I save the report to the repository or to a dos/lan folder. I might try recreating from scratch and saving to my hard drive.
The reason we are experimenting with reporter is that the client wants to be able to do adhoc reports, also I want to be able to list out what is in table fields before I mess with the structure. Ie find out what data would be affected by a particular change. Beginner Reporter only reports what it feels like, not what is actually on the database.
OIPI we use for most reports that don't change much and it is very good and the support is very good. I don't know anything about SLIST, if you could provide me with a pointer to what/where info I would appreciate it.
Thanks
Scott
