Can anyone provide some information about the function of Driver_Control() which is found in the Verbs file ?

I've just come across reference to it in some code (not written by me) , where it's called with a parameter value of 4, just before logging out.

I can't find any reference to it in Knowledge Base or in my copy of Sprezzatura's Revmedia.

Ya know, if ya'd put ya e-mail in ya msg, I cudda e-mailed ya da ting alrede. It'll show ya how ta drive wit no crashes or tickets or nuttin'! Yul also have to lern about GEC_COMMON and @environ.set.

Also, if ya's intrested, I'm modifyin Arev ta handle printers by USER, not just one set for evry1 (handles Novell queues and NT server and or wrkstation printers; 10/100baseT or TCP/IP. (that's really sort of a rude thing to call a protocol. ) Oh yeah, does print to disk and tracks date/time printed and the printer codes used (or let's you eliminate the codes as you print), shows the size, let's you view it regardless of size, shows you dates printed, let's you print a chunk, a range of pages, or odd then even so's ya can print two-sides (paper DOES have 2 sides, duzent it?) The onlys bad thing is that's I've onlys gots it running fur shur on 3.x. (ok, another bad thing is that it'll cost ya because AMcA convinced me ta take everyone fer as much cash as I can! )

There's actually quite a long article on PRINTER CONTROL that I have around here somewhere; send me your e-mail and I'll e-mail it this year sometime. If, on the other hand, the alligators are about to get you, I'll put it on the DOWNLOADS page at my website of:

Yeah sorry, we never eally felt the need to doc this as it just concerned itself with the GEC_Common area which we did doc… anyway here it is from internal notes - so not as detailed as REVMEDIA!

Possible values are

1 Enable use of printer control (all that stuff for bold/italic etc to screen and printer)

2 Disable

3 Disable screen conversion

4 Disable printer conversion

5 Initialise

6 Flush

Actually, AMcA, you condensed the 8 or so pages of very a very detailed explanation down pretty good. However, even though I've read my docs a *few* times, I'm not sure where those go, what STATUS() values are returned, how to keep printer control codes out of print-to-disk files or to use it to have printers running on a user basis instead of a network basis. What number was it that told me that?

Are you sure you're not confusing RevSoft's Driver_Control with a shell you've written for it? Only reason I ask is that RevSoft's Driver_Control doesn't actually set Status().
