Hello everybody,
We install an application of Arev.312 in a server IBM PIV 3.2 Ghz, 1GB RAM with a SO Windows 2003 and Windows 2000 Service 2.1, we have followed all the recommendations of the installation manual, as well as the tips of the FAQ and some post of the Online Discussion that speak about the topic.
The application runs normal for capture of data, but with reports it is extremely slow, a lot more slower than before installing the W2000 Service 2.1
I thank any comment in this respect,

Check the Windows Shortcut to AREV, and be certain that it is configured to *not* be "Exclusive in Foreground" - check the Misc Tab. The "Idle sensitivity" control gives you a throttle for this as well - set to around 75 percent (the optimal setting varies from PC to PC).
Printing is a background task - and typically AREV runs exclusively in foreground, monopolizing CPU to the detriment of print spooling.
You should also go into AREV and set the "Yield Time to Windows" feature to "Yes".
Another technique is to PCPERFORM "SUSPEND EXIT" at the end of your reports - this will flush and close the spool file and give the printer more priority.

Along with Steve Smith's suggestions try setting the temporary file directory to a local hard drive. Make sure that all arev users have read/write/modify/create/delete rights to this folder.
Check also that any virus scanners on the server and/or workstations are set to exlude REV*.LK and REV*.OV files.

Oops, forgot to mention the temporary file directory is set from the ARev main menu - Utilities -] Configuration -] Workstation -] Hardware
