I have recently upgraded Novell 3.12 to 3.2 and the client from Microsoft Novell client to Novell Intranetware 2.2. Alls well except I cannot redirect my Goldfax printer which resides on an NT server.

I was able to do this using the

 SUSPEND EXIT NET USE LPT3 \\CMG_NT2\GFAX_HP 

command. Now since I am using the Novell client this no longer works and get an error message.

How can I redirect a printer to LPT3 that resides on an NT server using a Novell client.

The Novell client also appears to fix some hangup problems in AREV so I would like to resolve my redirecting problems.

All my workstation use WIN98, NLM 1.5

I presume you are using the IPX protocol to address the Novell Server. What you now have to do is add Windows Networking and the TCP/IP protocol to your command stack, and synchronize the user login names and passwords on both NT & Novell servers. Then you should be able to NET USE the LPT3 printer device as before.

Take a registry backup from REGEDIT and a disk backup before you install the new TCP/IP protocol. This may take some juggling.
