Hi,
I am trying to import a csv file into a table (DAILY_JOB) and am running into a few problems.
Can anyone give me some pointers?
1) I have created a file with the fields that I want to import - but do I have to include spaces for ALL fields or is there a way I can specify which fields I am wanting to import?
2) How long should this take to import? - Cause I have a one line csv file, and I killed the process after waiting for it to do something after about 1 minute (thought it should be a hell of a lot quicker)
As you can probably tell by the nature of the post, I havn't the foggiest idea what I am doing, however I am trying my best to get somewhere. So any help on this will be much appreciated.
Regards
Troy

When in the import window press F6 to see the softkeys available to you - this should help considerably.
It should be VERY fast and display progress as it goes.

Okay - the F6 trick DID help heaps. But it is still not importing.
I have selected the file, the table, and the fields that the import file contains.
When I type in the TCL prompt "IMPORT ASCII TMSWMS" (TMSWMS being the import name), it sits there forever and a day - and does nothing, no indicator - nothing.
I press escape and the debugger window(??) has:
"V116 Line2 B10 Variable has not been assigned a value. Zero Used"
I know this is probably something that is dependent on this specific database, however if you are able to shed any light on why this is not importing, I would be hugly greatful
Thanks and Regards
