I receive a copy of the Revelation 2.0 32 bit Designer in a Lotus Domino CD, and I'm very interesting in try it before only use the
Lotus Notes environment. I'm not a user of Lotus Notes, I have to
understand a lot of thing before implement my aplication, but basically I
need to know the following: ViP offer the full advantage or use of the
workflow services of lotus?.
Other question, I have been reading what are new in the latest version, and I see that they solution older problems from older version, for example, in the case of 2.1 version vs. 2.0 version:
(VODBCN20.DLL)
* Microsoft ODBC drivers will now work with all ViP queries. Prior to this,
MS drivers that invoked the Jet engine for a prepare query operation would
fail to execute the proper query.
* SQL strings longer than 511 characters will now work. Previously very
long strings passed to the driver or server would fail.
(VIPCONN.NTF)
* This Notes template file has been updated to support Notes v4.x and ODBC.
Becouse I need to access SQL Server 6.5 and not Notes DB, this worry me. Is very nice found a software that combines a VB UI with a workflow data managemet, but this software and its aplication can grow if Lotus Notes grow?. How interact a ViP application with Lotus Notes environment?.
Sorry for so many questions!!
Very thanks.

Hello Mario,
"ViP offer the full advantage or use of the workflow services of lotus?"
- Yes, ViP was written to natively connect to and interact with Lotus Notes through Lotus Script.
- Yes, these are few of the fixes from ViP 2.0 - 2.1 …

- Take a look at the ViP 2.2 & 2.5 manuals for a detailed listing of other such fixes.
"I need to access SQL Server 6.5"
- You will only need the SQL Server ODBC driver
"How interact a ViP application with Lotus Notes environment?."
- It interacts very well, and provides the developers to easily and quickly design robust visual interfaces for both Notes and ODBC datasources.
Hope this helps,
