Having been a RevG and ARev programmer in the past when I heard that US Army Corps of Engineers, Huntsville was going to be putting out a bid solicitation for the rewriting of our M32 application I thought I should get the word out. M32 is a 32-bit version of our MCACES (Micro Computer Aided Cost Engineering System) software. This software was originally in development under a contract held by BSD (Building Systems Design, Inc.) the same company who had developed our M5.30 (DOS version of MCACES) and MFW (a windows version of MCACES). Both M5.30 and MFW were built on a Dbase platform. M32 was being constructed on the Microsoft Jet database platform using a mix of Access and Visual Basic. This contract was canceled and is now being readvertised. I'm assuming the specifications do not limit the database platform and therefore this application could be written using ARev/Open Insight.

There are several contracts for database development coming up in this fiscal year. Note: the Federal Government's fiscal year starts October 1 so we are one quarter ahead of the calendar year. This bid solicitation is listed as "Complete Development of M32" down toward the bottom.
