I am a little confused as to how the following setup should be installed.

We work with a number of groups that install our applications and in the following situation there is some confusion over how to get it all to work properly.

We have a couple of clients who currently run Novell servers, with local/direct connections who also wish to connect clients using a citrix server.

This is the configuration I want.

OpenInsight and the database to reside on the novell server.

The novell server runs the revelation NLM.

local clients access the application from the novell server.

The citrix winframe server provides access for remote clients to run the application from the novell server.

Can anyone see a problem with this?

Anyway in the real world we cant get this working.

We apply the Revelation Citrix patch and use that driver so that the citrix clients can load OI. ( without the citrix patch oi does not load.)

However, even after the revelation Citrix patch is loaded , the openinsight session is unable to access the Linear Hash files from the Novell server via the NLM. (FS107 errors).

It appears from the citrix session that the Citrix client has full access to the directories, as they can add/delete files from these directories and if the driver is changed to the NPP driver it runs and attaches files (of course without the benefit of the NLM).

We have checked that the frame types are correct and consistent across the server, clients and citrix Winframe server.

I have suggested creating the REVELATION user with full rights to the appropriate directories, when they go back to the site.

However, i am curious about a couple of things,

a) How does the citrix/and/or the NLM work out who/which user is requesting the data, Does it use the Citrix clients user or does it use some setting from the winframe server.

b) What affect does the using the citrix patch driver for the NLM have on regular local connections. I assume that it does work with for both citrix users and Local connections otherwise we would need separate openInsights for each?.

c) Is there a checklist for configuring OI and a winframe server either NT service or a Novell NLM.
