We have been running Arev 3.12 on an under resourced NT3.51 server. So we decided to port the application to a dedicated NT 4.0 server which had a much greater hardware spec'. Although the database is functional, when the NT service starts clients are thrown straight out of the database. (This is not the case if the service is not running) Arev does not show any errors however NT records an error message, i.e. LH OPEN Error

               Error ID 1030
UNABLE TO OPEN REVLOCKS FILE AT SERVER

I would be grateful if someone could shed some light upon this little problem

Stephen,

Check to see that the permissions of the Revsoft directory are set such that the "SYSTEM" user has "FULL CONTROL" of the directory. Let me know how this turns out.

Have checked the AREV directory and the "system" user has full control through the entire directory tree. The REVLOCKS file has no special attributes assigned to it. i.e it is NOT read only etc. The only real difference is that the AREV folder is sitting on D: and it was sitting a C: before. Whether this would make a difference is unclear.

I would appreciate any new ideas.

Thanks.

Stephen.
