Sorry for asking the same question so many times, but I am still not sure how to acomplish this.

1. I have a OI table that gets information entered into it via a user interface.

2. I want this data that is put into the table to updata a MS SQL table.

I am not sure how. Should I use the Wharehouse facility, If so can you give me some pointers.

Should I have MS SQL its self be linked to OI. If so does OI have a ODBC driver that I can define a datasource in the MS SQL environment.

Can I push the data into MS SQL ?

Basically I need to get the data from OI to SQL. Could MS SQL have a table based on a datasource that looks at the OI table. If so does OI distribute a ODBc driver that can be configured on NT in MS SQL.

Sorry for being such a novice

Yes, the Data Warehousing tools is your best bet. As for

how to do it .. if you just follow the wizard you should

find it pretty easy. Also look at the Help and I believe

there is a document in the 'knowledge base' section.

As for the connection, you need to create a SqlServer

Connection object through the ClientServer workspace. For

this you need the 16 bit drivers available in the SqlServer

6.0 and under. 6.5 ships with 32bit drivers only (i believe).

You might want to contact Cameron at RTI (in case he misses

your post). He can give you the exact name of files needed

(along with date/time stamp).

A. Howard,

In addition to David's remarks, I suggest you look at the example code for QryMethod in the BASIC+ help file. (To access this help, go to the System Editor, choose File, New Procedure, type "QryMethod" into the procedure, put the cursor on "QryMethod" and press F1.)

This example is the "bare minimum" to programmatically connect and execute a script using a Connection Object (to ODBC, SQL Server, or Oracle). If you know Transact SQL (SQL Server's dialect) just replace the "script" parameter with a Transact-SQL statement!
