Using following statement

Faxid=Rti_sendfax(FaxNo,FaxTo,Subject,,Cover,,Document,, ,,,Status)

FaxServer is windows built in faxing

Using USrobotics faxmodem

Problems

========

Status - returned with word 'SUBMIT' and a number for every fax always same number returned (- 2147352571)

FaxId - even though fax gets submitted this never returns a number always blank, should be returning a number acording to REV documentation

Command itself - does not wait to see if fax was completed or not and that is probably why FaxID is never assigned

Other Faxes - executing the command again while a fax is still in progress fails to properly submit the new fax for sending

I thought this routine was suposed to work but it seems that it either does not work properly or I am doing something wrong.

If anyone has got this to work properly please let me know.

Am I using the wrong setup or do I need to buy a faxing software program.

Hi, Terry. A couple of questions for you.

What version of OI are you running? What version of Windows are you running? What type of document is specified by the 'document' parameter? Have you tried sending a plain text document? What is the cover page document type?

Internally, RTI_SENDFAX uses OLE to talk with the FaxComEx.FaxDocument COM object (provided by Microsoft). According to the Google:

If the TIF file isn't in a very specific format, the Fax server needs to print the TIF file through its own printer driver in order to produce this very same format. Make sure that the work stations actually have something installed that can print these TIF files.

Other Google results show this is sometimes related to permissions problems (often on Windows 2003 Server), though I don't know if that applies here.
