I need to edit a files record (a line in

REVMEDIA.LK) to remove indexing from a file,

since the proper Remove Indexing procedure does

not work. How do I do this? I've had no luck

editing revmedia.lk as a text file, or saving

changes made when I do "edit files ".

What is the proper method? I need an AREV 2.12

solution.

Are you trying to edit REVMEDIA from the SYSPROG

application? ARe you going by Tech Bulletin 56 to

remove the index?

If not, it's here (Removing Indexes Manually).

If you are going by this document, and you say

you can't save changes, what is happening when you try to save the changes?

Does it appear to do it and then nothing is different, or is there

an error? Are the revmedia files flagged writable?

In AREV 3 we would use the following:

SETFILE volume SYSPROG REVMEDIA REVMEDIA

Then EDIT REVMEDIA FILENAME*ACCOUNT to get at the raw data

You can also list revmedia with the revmedia dictionary
