At the moment there is a connectivity issue with version 4.6 of the NT Netware Client and NLM 5.0. My Client is experiencing FS477/FS472

I am unable to install an earlier version of the Novell Client as other apps require it to be at this version.

I am considering reloading OI on a Novell 4.x Server with NLM 1.5. Are there any issues with version 4.6 of the Novell Client and NLM 1.5?

Dear Mike,

As you know, the Revelation NLM 5.0 has been experiencing intermittent connectivity problems with Novell 5.0 and

the Novell Intranetware Client for Windows NT v.4.6x. The Knowledgebase article regarding this problem can be found

on the Revelation Home Page and our Knowledgebase.

Technical Support reported this issue to Novell in June 1999, and we have been working adamently to get this issue

resolved. Novell has delivered a fix to address our connectivity problem, along with other implemented fixes that has

resulted in a new Novell Intranetware Client for Windows NT version 4.7. Technical Support has conducted tests on

Client 4.7 and we are satisfied that this version has resolved the connectivity problem for Revelation users running

NLM 5.0/Novell Intranetware Client for Windows NT with OpenInsight and/or Advanced Revelation.

Revelation customers experiencing problems with the NLM 5.0 and the Novell Intranetware Client for Windows NT v4.6x

may obtain Novell's newest Client for Windows NT, version 4.7. Revelation users may obtain the Novell

Intranetware Client version 4.7 for Windows NT from text.

In regards to your question regarding loading OI on a Novell 4.x server with the NLM 1.5 and version 4.6 of the Novell Client, there are no problems that we are aware of at this time. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Thanks.

I have been attempting to resolve the FS477 issue for this same client, however, as yet have been unable to do so.

We have tested the following combinations.

NETWARE 4.1, NLM 1.5, NT WORKSTATION with NOVELL CLIENT 4.5, 4.6.x, 4.7, RESULT=FS477

NETWARE 5, NLM 5, NT WORKSTATION with Novell client, 4.5, 4.6.x, 4.7, RESULT=FS477

We have tried all the above combinations with both 802.2 and 802.3 frame types specified, also, we have removed all protocols except IPX/SPX, however the FS477 error persists.

Alongside the NT workstation, we have a Windows95 PC, this machine functions fully and as expected from both Netware5/NLM5 and Netware4/NLM1.5. (the same server and network as the failed tests with NT workstation).

Do you have any other recommendations/suggestions as to why this error (FS477) is occuring ?

Did you ever resolve this issue? I don't see any response to your original posting so am curious. We have a similar situation with a client and have tried everything that I know to rectify with no success.
