1)If the field in Notes is a date field (not a Text field), then your data object will sort it properly, but only if you specify that the column is to be sorted.

2) If your Notes column is Categorized or Sorted, then Notes will sort it properly.

3) If your are retrieving the data in the data object unsorted, then you are leaving the sorting to the report. Again, you must specify that the column is sorted for the report.

In any case, if the data is typed as DateTime, the sorting should be correct (by date). The most frequent problem occurs when the column is stored as a text version of the date, which will not sort properly for American format. There is a (rather complicated) script formula to convert dates to sortable text (i.e. into the format YYYY/MM/DD). If you need it, we can supply it.
