Hello all:
I tried to transfer data table from the AREV 2.12 to OI 4.02 environment but OI table format does not meet my expectations.
What I did:
1. Converted AREV table into text file with default delimeters using AREV standard tools.
2.Imported text file to OI environment using Import dialog box options.
Result - OI table has no format at all.
I played with setting for Import dialog box, i.e. changed file formats (Variable Length or Fixed Length) and edited text file to meet possible delimeters combinations (Comma Delimeted, Comma and Quote Delimited and others) but result is the same.
Does anybody meet these problems before?

Try attaching the files from OI and copying the data in - formats are the same - you may have to massage the dictionaries.

Since AREV and OI are data-file compatable (with the exception of differences in DICT structure), you could have put the file in a blank directory with a MEDIA MAP and then done a COPYFILE or COPYTABLE to put a copy there.
Before attaching it in OI, you might take the trouble to convert it to AREV 3.1x (if you have a copy). It can save grief later on. Remember, OI doesn't like DOTS in DICT KEYS (have to be converted to UNDERBARS). The SYMBOLICS might need tweaking and "G" items won't work in OI tools like R/LIST. Also, if you use a lot of BASIC program calls in your symbolics, this can also cause headache, too.
But, unless you make a dictionary for the imported table in OI, it won't matter much to try to import the data since there's not much that can deal with it .. even CSV or whatever.

Finally, we exported table to OI by calling of appropriate BASIC+ module. Anyway, information of our respondents may help us in the future.
Thanks a lot!
