Hello, I just loaded openinsight 3.7.2 onto my windows 2000 server and have tried to go through the tutorials in

"Getting started with Client/Server data" However I seem to be missing the /tutorial subdirectory that contains the DB_EMP.dbf files that is suppose to be on the CD-rom.

Has anyone experienced this problem or know where I can go to get the DB_EMP.dbf and DB_Prod.dbf files?

Thanks!

Dan,

You're not missing them, they are examples of data sources. You need to create your own for a database that you use. The data sources are created via your ODBC manager (Control Panel). The lesson states that it assumes you have the correct drivers, data sources, set up already and that you have a dBase database.

You can use other databases as well, though you'll likely have to thunk the ODBC driver. You should follow this tutorial as an example, but it depends on what database you have of course.
