We are shipping AREV v2.12. We have clients on Windows 95 peer to peer networks. Some of our clients installing network cards in the printer and connecting the printer to hub. This confirguration does not support the use NET USE command, but any networking goes must be formatted to go to LPT2 instead of LPT1. Are there any AREV utilies that I can call to easily change from LPT1 to LPT2 and back and forw. And/or, how can i do this easily if I need to write a pgm for this. Also pls note that we have a print to ASCII dos file option and we always issus a PDISK command when route output…

Have you tried setprinter 1 and setprinter 2. This works for
us. The files are done by rolling out to dos; using the network
print to file command (for whichever lpt port) and then resetting
it when your done. We do this at quite a few sites and
it's pretty transparent to the user..

When launching a arev 2.12 application under windows 95
on Netware 4.11 I had to issue a PDISK LPT2 (O) command
in the programs to print to a network printer. Otherwise,
no matter what I did, Windows 95 would take over.
Sometimes it would print locally and sometimes it would
even make it to the network printer and sometimes it
would simply disappear.
