At last just changing OI3.7.5 apps to use Utility_FileDlg (or Utility_RunScript) to use long filenames. Using Win 98.

When entering in SaveAs a name not already filed, I get an "error : file not found" error. Surely this is not an error! Also the error as above is not in the format of a number followed by @FM and message, as suggested in program Utility_FileDlg source code.

I can't be the first - but a search of the discussion forum has drawn a blank. Can anyone give me a reference or advice.

If you choose file save as and pick an existing file, then you get the correct response. I believe the resolution requires using the flag property.

Thanks. As per my email (but for the benefit of others) this reference doesn't shed the required light.

It seems to me pretty basic that anyone using this facility is going to want to file under new file names (as well as overwriting existing files). I'm therefore astonished that :-

1) The basic operation of saving to a new file was clearly not a part of RTI's testing of this utility. Why not?

2) Nobody seems to have raised this point on this forum or with you before. Is nobody using OI16 using it? Have they found a better way?

3) It's not documented.

Actually Bob did give you the answer.

Flag=2097152

as per the documentation and the error message goes away.
