We are trying to test a web development but keep getting the above error message using both IIS and Apache. We have checked and re-checked all the configuration and registry settings but the error persists.
The OI version is 7.0.1 single user.
Any help would be appreciated.

My understanding was that you need multiple user licenses to run Web deployments. Of course I may be wrong…

You should be able to do single user access, if you follow the correct engine setup (at least - it always worked when I tested this years ago, with just a development single user copy). Just one user can access the site at a time, tho (with multi-user, limited to total # of users installed)
Other configurations, tho, you need the web deployment pack (even if only one or two users access the site). Refer to the licensing info elsewhere on this site for which model to follow for your particular application.

Use the "dynamic engine" configuration (see help, OpenEngine ] OECGI ] Typical Configurations ] Dynamic Engine). If you are using DEVELOPMENT copy with one user license, then you must be completely out of OI, since the OECGI does use one user license.
I do believe when using the "dynamic engine" configuration, you do not need the WebDeployment license. You just need user licenses.
