We have a client that is regularly getting GPF's when running some processes. When you click on the "Details" button the GPF's were in the OENGINE.EXE and REVDEBUG.DLL files.

Their system also seems to be running very slowly and we have had problems with things freezing when we remotely connect to their site via modem.

Does anyone have any ideas about what might be causing these problems???

Thanks,

Michael

Michael,

Perhaps you want to upgrade the customer to OpenInsight 3.71 (or 3.72) as the following were fixed after OpenInsight 3.7.

From 3.71 upgrade Readme.wri:

1) Fixed a bug that caused the debugger to GPF when stepping through a BASIC+ program that used more than 11 labelled common blocks. (SPR#CPUY3N4LV9) (REVDEBUG.DLL)

2) Fixed a bug that caused the debugger to GPF when stepping over a FREECOMMON statement. (SPR#CPUY3N4LWH) (REVDEBUG.DLL)

How much conventional memory is available when OI is started? I had a similar problem with a client that had 3 or 4 processes active:

Big E-Mail client running all the time in watchdog mode
Real-Time virus scanning (Believe it was Norton 5.0)
CD software (just liked to listen to music, I guess)
Netware Printer Server

The machine was a Compaq Pentium with 16 MB ram (not near enough for my taste). Upgrading the memory to 64 MB solved the problem.
