Our Customer got a new Windows 7 64-bit computer.
It is not a server. They are running a single user OInsight 8.0.1 Application.
It will run from the command prompt with the user set as 'Run as Administrator',
but it will not run from an icon on their desktop.
We have exempted OInsight from DEP protection.
We have marked the Icon as Run as Administrator and XP Compatible mode,
service pack 2 and 3.
It starts to run and just hangs up.
Also, when we run it from their command prompt, it won't close. It leaves
OInsight in the Task Manager.
It runs fine on our Windows 7 64-bit machine, just not on the customer's.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks - Jackie

OpenInsight 9.x is the recommended version for 64bit releases of windows. You may want to consider upgrading because it is DEP compatible
Since you can start OpenInsight as 'Run As Administrator' you are probably encountering a UAC (User Account Control) issue and not a DEP issue. Try disabling UAC completely by following these instructions or comparing the UAC settings with your workstations and the client site.
