Greetings!

I run a web site http://thedce.com using Apache2 OI 9.1.1 UD6 on WinXP

Overall, works great. I do a lot of upgrades to the html, javascript, css and OI stored proceedures remotely using pcAnywhere to do filetransfers and to restart OengineServer. The actual transfer of the files from the upgrade package to OI and htdocs is done under web control. Works great.

However, occasionally my customer will call and say "Searches are very (too) slow". I look in with PCanywhere, and look at Task manager, and I find an oecgi2 running with 90+% of the cpu. Usually there is a second 'normal' oecgi2 running, but not necessarily.

Although difficult, I can usually stop the oecgi2 hogging the cpu with task manager remotely. Sometimes I give up and go to the server Room where I can get directly on the machine to stop the oecgi2 taking all the cpu. I usually then, restart OengineService, thinking that'd be good practice.

This happens on an irregular basis, but often enough that I want to look for the cause and correction.

Where, would be a good place to start?

Have fun,

Paxton
