Btree.Extract and Windows NT (AREV Specific)

I have an existing application that I have installed at about 30 sites that does a call to Btree.Extract. These sites are running either DOS or WIndows 95 and have no problems. I recently installed the above application on a Windows NT 4.0 network using the latest version of the NPP. When a call is made to Btree.Extract that uses 4 different XREF indexes I don't get any hits. If I call Btree.Extract using the individual indexes I get hits. The indexes do not appear to be corrupt. This same application works on all versions of Netware, LANtastic, and WIndows 95 networks without any problems. My client doesn't want to spend the money on the NT Service.
Is there a configuration problem on NT?
Thanks for your help.

When you say NT Network, do you mean all NT workstations, or just the server? Are there any service packs on the Nt boxes?

Thanks for your interest Tracy.
My client has an NT network with NT workstations. The workstations have service packs 1 - 3. The Btree.Extract results appear to be the same regardless of which service pack a particular machine has.
If you need more info let me know.
Thanks
