Unable To Access Linear Hash Files (Networking Products)

Our auditors would like to view our AREV 3.12 program as of January 1, 1998. I have a backup for year end and have restored it to another server. The original program is still running fine. This program runs on Arev 3.12/NPP 1.4/NT Service 1.4. When I restored onto the other server there is no NT Service, so I removed all of the REVPARAM files. When I run the program I get the following:
All Networks Driver 1.4.0.0
Unable to access Linear Hash FilesError=FS231File=1Unable to open boot media map.
** These servers are on the same network and same domain.
Your help is appreciated!

Hi-
I can't seem to find the error message for FS231. Are you sure that was the error code returned?
At any rate, does it run if you switch the network driver to something other than the NPP? Can you log in to SYSPROG no problem? Does it get all the way through the Processing Please wait…… message? If not, what dot is it stopping on?
If you remap the drive on the broken system to be the same drive letter as the working system, does it work? This test will be most relevant if the directory trees are the same on the servers.

Yes, that FS231 is the error message I am getting. I cannot switch the network driver from NPP because I cannot log in. I suspect that if I can switch it to something else it may work. In soon as the processing please wait comes up it says
ALL NETWORK DRIVER 1.5.0.0Unable to access Linear Hash Files

Sorry, my mouse hit the submit button.
Continuing… I am wondering if it is because I am trying to run two copies of AREV with the same serial #. Could this be it? If so, how I can I do this? I just need a copy running on one computer so that the auditors can look at it.
Thanks!

It shouldn't matter that the applications have the same serial number. If you want to try it with a different network driver, change it in the working system, save to REVBOOT, and then copy the REVBOOT file to the broken system. That way if if works, you'll at least be able to get to the application.
Also, are you attaching both servers? Try only mapping a drive to the broken one.
Can you copy the application to a local workstation? If you copy the application as it exists now rather than fromt he backup, does it work?

Hi,
I have just installed the NPP1.5 on an Arev2.12 application running on a Banyan 7.xx server. Using W.3.11 workstations, other than low memory problems, it seems to work although the station ids are the same but data record locking reports locks correctly.
However I have just tried to run ARev from a windows 95 machine and ARev bombs out with the FS231 "Unable to open boot media map" message.
Did anyone solve this problem ?
I am on-site in Germany and due to leave in about 1/2 hour - isn't this always the way ?

Hi Tracy (and Sergio),
I am certain of the message number and, like Sergio, ARev drops out very quickly with the error. The application WILL load from the Win 3.11 workstations the users have, the Win95 machine is in IT support.
This is important because I thought the NPP enabled Win95 compatibility and we are expecting the site to upgrade workstations for the users ready for our windows app. which requires Win 95/98/NT and they will run both ARev and Windows apps concurrently.
It is strange that I can log in on Win3.1 machines though…..
I tried using the Generic DOS driver before installing the NPP but I was not happy with the workstation Id of the machine=48*". Two other machines had the same Id.
