I have a system running Novell 3.12, Arev 2.12 and I think the current Arev NLM. The lhipxtsr is 1.12.

I have one user that gets the following error fairly consisttently:

fatal error reading by file

dict.message.cdy (or some other file)

FS487}

Linear Hash Client/Server.

* Server Connection synchronization Error.

There are 25 users on the system, but she is the only one to get this

error on a regular basis.

Sometimes other users get a No Server Response error, but it is rare

once or twice a month.

What kind of workstations are you using?

It could be a timing problem in the communication with the server.

Probably you should experiment with the parameters of LHIPXTSR.
