WHY? "In order for OIPI to run properly and to not display the message you are receiving, you need to register the VSPRINT7.OCX and VSPDF.OCX on the offending machines."

If OIPI is integrated with OI32 4.x why????

(Thanks S. FS)

Jim,

VSPRINT7.OCX and VSPDF.OCX are stored in the OpenInsight (REVBOOT) folder. When you install OpenInsight (assuming you utilized the InstallShield setup) it will register these files correctly. However, if you move OpenInsight to another folder or if you installed OpenInsight by just copying the files from another source then these files will need to be registered manually.

Thanks Don, but I did indeed use "setup" for the install -

that is a large part of my puzzlement.

Did you install this on a local machine or network server?

Jim,

OIPI is integrated with the development version of OI 4.0 and above. When deploying applications to a runtime environment, it is not integrated and needs to be deployed.

OK That clears it up. Thanks Sean

Just out of curiosity, how so? You indicated that you installed OpenInsight from the original setup. If you are only having trouble with a deployed copy of OpenInsight then my first response to you should have explained the problem.

Don, Between the experience that I had and some other postings here

I took it to mean that I had better register the OCX's to be certain.

Thanks for your interest and help.
